Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

This policy explains what information is processed when you use SampleTestFiles at https://sampletestfiles.com ("the site"), why, and what choices you have. The site has no user accounts and does not ask you for personal information in order to browse or download.

Summary

Information processed when you visit

Server logs

Like almost every website, the site is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers automatically record technical information about each request. This typically includes your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system as reported in the user-agent string.

These logs are used to operate and secure the service, to diagnose faults and to understand overall traffic. They are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period in line with its own retention policy. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.

Preferences stored in your browser

If you switch between light and dark appearance, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key stf-theme so that it is remembered on your next visit. This value stays on your device, is not sent to us and can be removed by clearing site data in your browser.

The site's own code sets no cookies.

Downloads

Downloading a sample file is an ordinary web request and appears in the server logs described above. We do not ask who you are or what you will use a file for.

The site search runs entirely in your browser against an index file. Your search terms are not sent to us. They do appear in the page address, so they may be visible in your browser history.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising supplied by Google AdSense, a service of Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited. When advertisements are displayed:

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalised advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.

For details of how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Where the law requires it, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you are asked for your consent before cookies are used for advertising, through a consent message provided by a Google-certified consent management platform. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown with that message.

Emails you send us

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to deal with your request, and we keep correspondence for as long as needed for that purpose and for our records.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only:

These providers may process information in countries other than your own, under their own safeguards.
